Dr.Vanesa Gottifredi is an Independent Research Scientist from the National Science Council of Argentina (Investigadora Independiente del Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas-CONICET). She graduated in Chemistry in 1992 and since then she has explored different aspects of the molecular biology of cancer. She got her Ph.D in Human Biology in 1998 in the University of Rome, Italy and she trained as a postdoctoral fellow in the Biological Sciences Department in Columbia University. Back in Argentina, she obtained a research grant from Fundación Antorchas which allowed her to start researching in her home country. Since then she has receive National and International grants and, during 2007, she became head of the Cell Cycle and Genomic Stability Laboratory in Fundación Instituto Leloir.
